TV show description:
A group of police officers are picked to join a special investigative team based out of the 21 Jump Street headquarters. They are primarily chosen based on their youthful looks and ability to go undercover. The officers infiltrate high schools and colleges to investigate and solve a variety of crimes. Subjects include all the pertinent topics and issues facing the youth of America in the late 1980s including drugs, gangs, hate crimes, racism, alcohol abuse, peer pressure, and the like.

The initial team members include introverted Officer Tom Hanson, Jr. (Johnny Depp); street-smart Officer Judy Marie Hoffs (Holly Robinson); soft-spoken and conservative Officer Harry Truman Ioki (Dustin Nguyen); and funny Officer Doug Penhall (Peter DeLuise).

Later officers include rebellious Officer Dennis Booker (Richard Grieco); idealistic Officer Dean Garrett (David Barry Gray); cocky Officer Anthony “Mac” McCann (Michael Bendetti); and passionate Officer Joey Penhall (Michael DeLuise).

The team is initially led by laid-back Captain Richard Jenko (Frederic Forrest). After Jenko’s untimely death at the hands of a drunk driver, he is replaced by Captain Adam Fuller (Steven Williams), an assertive by-the-book man from New York.

Sal “Blowfish” Banducci (Sal Jenco) is the Jump Street station’s “maintenance engineer” and is always available to joke around or gamble money away in an office pool.

Gieco’s character eventually quits the force, becomes a private detective, and becomes the subject of his own show, Booker.
